Minutes from Taylor Mill to our office
About six road miles. We're at 5302 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051, on Madison Pike (KY 17 Business) in the center of town, a short distance from the Kenton County Courthouse and the Independence City Building. Taylor Mill, along with DeCoursey and Fairview, lies to our northeast. Both Taylor Mill Road and Pride Parkway carry the KY 16 number, and either one points you our way.
From the Taylor Mill City Building or Scott High School, you're in the middle of the 12-to-18-minute range. Down along the Licking River in DeCoursey, the other way in is Decoursey Pike (KY 177) south and then west into Independence, and it falls inside the same range.
Same-day emergency dental care for Taylor Mill patients
Monday and Wednesday we're open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; on Tuesday and Thursday we go from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Three same-day emergency slots are held on each of those days, at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The front desk gives you the next one open when you call. The 3:00 PM slot leaves room to get here after a half day at work, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays we're still here until 6:00 PM.
Walk-ins can't be seen here. Phoning ahead is what gets a chair ready instead of a wait.
Once you're here, X-rays and the exam come first, and treatment follows the same day whenever the diagnosis allows. A dental abscess is drained and treated at that visit. A tooth that's cracked through gets broken tooth repair or, when it can't be kept, an emergency extraction in our office. Bring your insurance card, and a list of any medications you're on, if you can.
What an emergency dental visit costs for Taylor Mill patients
The emergency exam and the X-rays needed to diagnose the tooth are $89 for patients paying without insurance. Whatever the tooth needs after that is priced on its own and handed to you in writing before we begin. You decide from there.
PPO dental insurance and most traditional dental insurance plans are accepted. For PPO or traditional dental insurance, the exam and X-rays get billed straight to the plan. Call with your card handy and we check before you arrive. Cherry, LendingClub and CareCredit are available for treatment costs. Read the cost and insurance page for the full picture before you call.

After hours for Taylor Mill patients
Our last chair time of the week is Thursday at 6:00 PM. We're closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the first opening after that is Monday at 9:00 AM. The phone doesn't close. Call (859) 555-0147 at midnight on a Saturday and a real person answers. They note your name, the number to call back and what the trouble is, then hold that Monday 9:00 AM time for you. Call on a Monday night and the hold is for Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Our weekend and after-hours page has the steps for getting through the pain in the meantime.
Some symptoms belong at a hospital tonight: swelling that has reached the eye or is spreading down the neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a jaw that may be broken. The emergency room nearest our office is St. Elizabeth Edgewood, 1 Medical Village Drive in Edgewood. Hospitals treat spreading infection and injuries; they generally don't treat the tooth itself. The tooth comes to us once we open.
Emergency dental services for Taylor Mill families
A Scott High player who catches an elbow at a weekday practice needs that knocked-out tooth dropped in milk and a call to us on the way out of the parking lot. A tooth chipped under the Friday-night lights is a different timeline: call that night, and Monday's first opening is held for the repair. A wisdom tooth that flares up gets looked at the day you call, and when it has to come out, we handle the wisdom tooth extraction in our office too. A throbbing toothache that has cost you two nights of sleep is diagnosed and treated at its source, with an emergency root canal when the tooth can be saved. A crown that pops off over dinner is re-cemented through our lost filling or crown service.
Taylor Mill is one of the eight communities our service area page lists, with miles and minutes for each.
Frequently asked questions
Is Pride Parkway or Taylor Mill Road the faster way to your office?
Both carry KY 16 and both land inside the 12-to-18-minute range. Taylor Mill Road runs southwest straight toward Independence. Pride Parkway gets you to Senour Road, then Madison Pike (KY 17 Business) into town. If you're starting near Pride Park or Scott High School, the parkway is the natural pick. Otherwise take whichever you reach first.
I live in DeCoursey along the river. Which way do I come?
Decoursey Pike (KY 177) south, then west into Independence. It's the valley road, two lanes following the Licking River, so plan for the long end of the range rather than the short end. Call (859) 555-0147 before you set out so a slot is held when you pull in.
Can you see my teenager after school lets out at Scott or Woodland?
The 3:00 PM same-day slot is the one to ask for. Call in the morning, as soon as you know something's wrong, because the three slots go in the order the calls come in. A chipped tooth or a filling that fell out can be handled at that visit, and we tell you what the tooth needs before we start.
Do you take my dental insurance?
We take PPO dental insurance and most traditional dental insurance plans. Plans vary, so the quickest way to know is to call with your card in hand; we check it before you arrive. Treatment costs can also go through Cherry, LendingClub or CareCredit, and the details are on our cost page.
